Hello World: why this blog exists

First post

I spent 20+ years in enterprise IT before deciding "retired" didn't have to mean idle. These days I split my time between trading and experimenting with AI tools — and somewhere in between those two things, I kept accumulating notes that didn't really fit anywhere. Market observations that were too long for a tweet. AI workflows worth writing down before I forgot how I set them up. The occasional strong opinion about a movie. And whenever I actually make it out camping, notes on that too.

This site is where those notes live now. A few ground rules for what you'll find here:

No definitive investment advice. I'll write about what I'm seeing in the market and how I'm thinking about it, sourced and dated. What you do with that is your decision — and for anything that actually matters, talk to a licensed professional, not a blog.

Sourced, not hyped. If I can't verify a number, I'll say so instead of rounding it up to sound more impressive.

There's also a side project here called Japan Finds — a running, verified list of Japanese products that are actually available to buy in the US. More on that on the About page.

日本の読者の方向けには、世界の掘り出し物という姉妹コーナーもあります。 アメリカをはじめ海外のブランド・商品を、日本から実際に購入できるかどうか確認した上で紹介していく企画です。

That's the pitch. Thanks for reading.
